Normally around this time, people are reflecting on the past year and writing their goals for the New Year, if they don’t already have them written.
However, you begin to realize no matter how much you plan…life happens, and a lot of times things don’t happen exactly how we thought they would. That’s how it was for me this year.
I got rejected from a grad program that I applied for; my grandmother passed away, which brought up feelings of guilt and sadness, and contributed to my lack of motivation; I had moments where I felt like I wasn’t needed at work and I just couldn’t get it together; I contracted COVID, which actually turned out to be the reflective time that I needed, though obviously it sucked to have it. Going into the Christmas holiday, I lost my other grandmother, which really had me floating through. And even as I write this, I have been at home sick, while I also try to make some important decisions.
If that seemed like a lot to you, just imagine how I felt. My emotions, thoughts, and mental have been all over the place this year, but this isn’t a post to get you down going into the New Year. It is quite the opposite.
Though this year has been trying, each situation helped me to learn a lot about myself, and I am still learning and growing into the amazing person that I am destined to be.
I am excited to enter 2022!
I may not know everything that will come my way, but I’m trusting God throughout the process. Through all of my ups and downs this year He has been with me, and I expect nothing less as we enter into the new year.
I pray that whatever your year may have looked liked, you don’t feel defeated, rather encouraged and hopeful for 2022.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13, NIV).”

Love this post! You are not alone! This year has been CRAZY. It’s good to look for the lesson in our tough times. God is always up to something! #TRUST
