QuaranTINGZ

It is day whatever of me working from home/self quarantining/social distancing, and I have gone through multiple phases: productive and energized, bored, and slightly crazy. And all of this is just one day!!!

I am normally someone who loves being in the house. There is a sense of peace that comes with being by myself and chilling in my own spot. It’s NICE, but THIS…there have definitely been moments over these past two weeks where I have really been over it.

A bulk of my time has been spent in my living room, switching my eyes between my laptop, television, and phone. I have been staring at screens for so long that my vision looks blurry, which is OBVIOUSLY bad and I am afraid of what my eye doctor will say. Ya’ll, I CAN’T get thicker glasses. I just CAN’T!

ALSO, I am an over thinker, so having all of this time and space for my thoughts to breathe is not good. Even as I type this, I’m thinking about some guy that I have never met and us being in this DOPE relationship, but also sad that he is not here yet and I don’t know where to find him. IS THAT CRAZY?

Well for everyone who is feeling like me, we are going to get through this! There are some things that we can do to keep us feeling productive so our minds won’t wonder on all the other stuff.

WHIP IT UP IN THE KITCHEN

With the Rona ’round these restaurants and us on Level 1 lockdown (I’m not sure if there are actual levels, I just feel like if we do have some that’s where we will be), now is a GREAT time to start cooking. I actually LOVE cooking and trying new recipes. It’s fun! It’s even more fun when the food turns out great! Yes, cooking is a fun experience, but you can’t eat experiences, so make sure you follow somebody’s directions.

WORK IT OUT

So your summertime fine as wine beach plans are not panning out like you thought they would, but working out is still important. With all that cooking, eating, and sitting around, there needs to be some moving happening also. The workout studio that I go to, Pure Barre, has a digital platform that I have been using. I also go on YouTube and find some dance videos to do a little choreography so I can channel my inner Beyonce.

I am Blue Ivy of course, watching our mom do what she does.

GET SOME SUNLIGHT

This is a message for me also, GO OUTSIDE! I have been inside so long, when I finally go back to work they’re going to think that I’m white. I’ve lost my coloration sitting in this houserie. (I SAID WHAT I SAID!) Being inside all day obviously can drive you crazy. The fresh air is good for your mind and body. PLUS, its been looking real cute outside. ENJOY THIS WEATHER!

PASSION PROJECT

We have a LOT of time, and who knows how long this all will last. You can spend time working on something that you usually never have time to do. Maybe it is something that you want to learn to do. NOW IS THE TIME!

There are so many ways to make use of this time to keep from going crazy.
